Eyewear icons in technological perfection

Stuttgart/Munich. The eyewear models of Porsche Design epitomise perfection and intelligent functions in combination with a purist design. The new eyewear collection consists of five correction as well as two sunglasses models. The collection is rounded out by the Performance Edition.

Pilot spectacles in combination with flat lenses – the Flat Aviator
The new Flat Aviator sunglasses (P‘8686) from Porsche Design combine two must-haves of the season at the same time: pilot spectacles and flat lenses. The cult spectacles in a teardrop shape are the accessory of the summer. In combination with the mirrored effect of the extremely flat lenses, the Flat Aviator becomes a true eyecatcher. With a recommended retail price of EUR 250, the metal sunglasses are available in three colours as of April at selected opticians and as of June in Porsche Design Stores as well as online at www.porsche-design.com.

Perfect symbiosis of shape and function – the Ball Tec models
With the new correction frames (P‘8352, P‘8353 und P‘8354), Porsche Design is expanding the successful Ball Tec series with more eyewear models. The ball - which is considered to be a basic form as well as the clearest and purest of all forms - is at the heart of the concept. In these models, the titanium ball is inserted in the temples of high-quality plastic and ensures that the sides move around the ball, which means the greatest flexibility can be achieved. Model P‘8352 is captivating with a purist top bar made of pure titanium and an ultra-thin Nylor thread that holds the lenses in the frame. The full-rim models come with a striking lens shape (P’8353) or in a cool Panto shape (P’8354). The Ball Tec models will be available as of April in four colours at selected opticians for a recommended retail price of EUR 450.

Reduced to the essentials – the flexible Purism models
The styling of the new models (P‘8350 and P‘8351) from the Purism segment is reduced to the minimum – timeless, simple and elegant. The two wraparound metal bands in the middle section produce one unit and thereby replace the bridge of the frame. Even the transition from the sides made of ultra-light plastic and the lugs flows with these models and is reduced to the essentials. With the flexible Purism concept, Porsche Design is focussing on something that is everlasting and has created a companion for spectacles wearers who have an affinity for design. The models are available in four colour variations each for a recommended sales price of EUR 320 from selected opticians.

Safe and stylish on the road – the Performance Edition
The new sunglasses of the Performance Edition (P‘8665 and P‘8649) are captivating due to a combination of innovative function and dynamic design. The temple design of the pilot spectacles from the Flowing Titanium series is inspired by the silhouette of the Porsche 911. The sunglasses appear very sporty in the asphalt black colour with end pieces in racing red or racing orange. They are equipped with lenses from Porsche Design Lens Technology, which meet the high quality standard of Rodenstock and provide a unique combination of a polarising as well as contrast-enhancing function. With their mirrored progressive tint, these sunglasses are also very stylish and the perfect companion for driving a car.
Porsche Design Lens Technology sunglasses with UV 400 protection ensure optimum glare protection and perfect vision – even in extreme light conditions. The use of stabile and simultaneously light high-performance plastics made of polycarbonate creates high wearing comfort. The special hard coating protects the lenses against scratches. The polarising and contrast-enhancing lens technology provides increased glare protection thereby ensuring greater safety and visual comfort outdoors and when driving a car – above all from highly reflective surfaces, like on wet roads. The antireflection coating on the back side of the lenses reduces bothersome reflections thereby creating relaxed vision. The sunglasses lenses provide outstanding colour reproduction through a balanced increase of the colour contrasts. As a result, the ability to discern traffic lights in road traffic is not impaired. The strictest quality controls, far beyond the German industrial standard, provide the best vision – for any requirement. Available for a recommended retail price of EUR 460 as of April at selected opticians and as of June in Porsche Design Stores as well as online at www.porsche-design.com.
