A Perfect Perspective
Rodenstock is presenting 17 new correction models
to the international professional audience at the start of the
opti 2012. The focus is on two important topics that are right
in trend: lightness and colouring. The striking features include
refined material combinations, innovative materials and
interesting colour effects. All models are timelessly elegant,
made of high-quality materials and are manufactured perfectly,
from a functional and craftsmanship perspective. Wearing comfort
is always the focus of new developments, which is typical of
Rodenstock.
The New
Lightness This season, Rodenstock Eyewear is
focussing on a reduced, modern look with a purist design,
flowing shapes and innovative materials. Styling is moving away
from angular and dominant details and is moving towards rounder,
softer and clearer lines. Ultralight materials such as titanium
and Trogamid® emphasise the new objectivity, and functional
elements ensure a pleasant feeling when wearing the
spectacles.
On the whole, the new
collection focuses on Rodenstock's technical and
design competence – even in the minutest details. With the
sporty and dynamic R 2272 men's spectacles, this can
be seen in the refined design hinge with the typical Rodenstock
"R" that is only revealed when the sides are
folded open. In addition, the titanium frame is convincing
because of its low weight and maximum flexibility. The narrow
sides are made of a very flexible, high-tech plastic called
Trogamid® and can be individually adjusted. These high-end
materials guarantee high durability and optimum wearing
comfort. Lightness and a consistently reserved design
also characterise the R 2275 men's model with a
contemporary rimless concept in a striking Carré shape. The
sides, with a contrasting colour on the inner side and made of
beta titanium, are extremely flexible and guarantee a fit that
is always perfect. A finely wrought laser decoration with an
elegant matt/gloss contrast adorn the outside of the sides. The
R 2283 ladies' model also makes an unimposing fashion
statement with a new Nylor concept. Characteristic of this
titanium frame is a gently curving, decorative top line that
flows over into the temples harmoniously giving the model a
touch of feminine lightness. The insides of the temples have a
contrasting colour, and the outsides are decorated with an
architecturally striking cut-out pattern. The R 2182 unisex
model, on the other hand, is the modern interpretation of
reading spectacles. The clear design of the half spectacles has
a very modern effect due to the material combination of
high-quality stainless steel and light-as-a-feather Trogamid®.
An anatomical saddle bridge and adjustable end pieces ensure the
best feeling when they are
worn.
Trend Towards
Colouring Colours will be taking a dominant
role next season. The trend is going primarily towards metallic
shades and inside-out colour effects on the temples that toy
with discrete contrasts between light and dark colours. This can
be seen nicely on the R 2279 ladies' frame among
others, where flat sides made of Italian block acetate are given
additional highlights by a chequerboard pattern with exciting
colouring. The sides of the classical R 2278 ladies spectacles
are decorative but not dominant. The tortoise shell like mosaic
pattern in brown, gold, Bordeaux or rosé forms an exquisite
contrast to the classical full-rim frame made of titanium. The
retro trend is picked up by model R 5252: The unisex acetate
spectacles with a clip-on system are convincing with distinct
colours such as black, dark brown and Havana. Discretely placed
colour decorations – either as tone-in-tone or finely contrasted
in natural shades – give the frame, which picks up on the retro
trend, a modern flair. Fashionable colour patterns also define
the appearance of the R 5257 ladies' spectacles. The
frame with its high-quality workmanship and innovative laser
painting technology takes one by surprise with an interesting
graduated tint on the bridge. With the classical R 2277
men's frame in a Carré shape, a top bar made of metal
forms a charming contrast to the striking acetate temples with a
multifaceted horn pattern. The colours of the two materials are
harmoniously matched to each other. The two ladies'
models, R 2252 with a full rim frame made of beta titanium and R
2282 S1 with a rimless frame, toy with colour duality and
contrasting effects. The acetate temples of the spectacles have
contrasting colours on the inner side with finely tuned nuances,
or more dominant with contrasting shades, depending on the
variant. The colour scheme ranges between the classical shades
of brown, gold, blue, violet and rosé.
