Rodenstock Wins German Design Award 2014

Germany's leading manufacturer of lenses and frames is distinguished with the noted German Design Award 2014. The "Rodenstock Perfection R8005" frame wins the "Special Mention" award for exceptional design quality in the lifestyle category.

Award with Prestige
The German Design Award is the German Design Council’s international premium prize. Established on the initiative of
the German Bundestag (the lower house of German parliament) as a foundation in 1953, the Council is one of the world’s leading competence centers for communication in the field of design.
A jury of 30 design experts from business, education and science as well as the design industry selected the Rodenstock frame for the coveted premium prize from a total of 1900 submissions. With this award, the German Design Council recognises work with an innovative design and technical refinement and acknowledges the outstanding dedication of companies and designers.

Understatement in its Purest Form
The award winning Rodenstock frame comes from the Rodenstock Perfection category and is targeted at customers who demand top quality and the best vision.
With its valuable impression and innovative, screw-free hinge, the Perfection frame is like a piece of jewellery. Its immaculate look comes from a combination of premium materials and high-quality surfaces. The end pieces made of light-as-a-feather titanium guarantee a perfectly balanced fit.
Just like Rodenstock lenses, the Perfection frame is a blend of experience and innovation, exquisite materials and first-class functionality. Hence it completely embodies the Rodenstock brand promise:
"See better. Look perfect."

The German Design Award will be presented to Rodenstock on February 7th during the course of "Ambiente", the most important, international consumer goods trade fair. With more than 1000 guests from politics, the economy, design and the press, the ceremony is one of the most important design events of the year.
