Porsche Design in the Middle Kingdom
Porsche Design's popularity in Asia is
unlike any other German luxury brand. Now, Porsche Design
presented the collection it developed especially for Asia at the
Shanghai International Optics Fair (SIOF). The collection has
been specifically adapted to the needs of the markets there.
Porsche Design is remaining true to its basic principles there
as well and arouses enthusiasm amongst its customers with a
functional, purist design and its very unique type of luxury. It
is called engineered luxury. The result is exclusive spectacles
for the highest demands with a perfect fit and outstanding
wearing comfort.
An Icon for
Asia To Porsche Design, engineered luxury
means the combination of a first class de-sign, innovative
technical functionality, perfect craftsmanship, and the highest
quality materials – with the goal of creating companions for
life. This is because trends come and go, but Porsche Design
remains. One of the most striking examples is the so-called
exclusive spectacles, or the P’8478, the world's first
sunglasses with replaceable lenses. With more than six million
sold to date, it is one of the most successful sunglasses models
ever. Developed in 1972 by company founder Professor Ferdinand
Alexander Porsche himself, the "exclusive
spectacles" with their perfect design have remained
unchanged since then. Only the choice of material was adapted to
the state of the art today with ultralight titanium. Known as
the P'8978, it is now available in a version adapted
for the Asian market and is also available in the four sizes S,
M, L and XL.
Dynamic Contours in
Perfection Sporty and exquisite at the same
time with flowing lines and soft transitions: The models of the
"Flowing Titanium" line follow the styling of
the design icon, the Por-sche 911. Now with models
P'8701 and P'8702, the Flowing Titanium
bestsellers are also available as Asia models. The correction
spectacles made of pure titanium are convincing with sporty lens
shapes and interesting light-shadow effects on the sides.
Stylishly confident colour combinations such as gold with olive,
titanium with matt red or dark red with dark green provide
additional emphasis to the extravagant design of the full-rim or
Nylor frames.
Stylish Down to the
Details The high-tech material carbon is
used consistently in the two correction frames P'8707
and P'8708. For example, an innovative acetate with a
carbon-look was de-veloped especially for these models, which
gives the spectacles a masculine and self-confident air. Porsche
Design is full of surprises with thrilling contrasts in the
colouring, for example with a striking, patterned carbon-acetate
in combination with classical translucent acetate. Technical
know-how can be seen here in every detail, for example in the
spring hinge that is completely integrated into the frame for a
stylish look down to the smallest details. Another
tried and proven successful concept, which is now available
specifically for Asian buyers, are correction spectacles
P'8703 and P'8704 with sporty barrette style
sides. A Nylor variant with two lens shapes as well as a rimless
frame give different types of spectacles wearers a
choice.
Effective immediately, there will
be a distinct Asia collection from Porsche Design twice a year
developed in a close working relationship with local partners –
for a guarantee of perfectly fitting
spectacles.
