For a global player like Rodenstock, the Vision X
is one of the absolute mandatory dates in the trade fair
calendar. The Vision X takes place each year in May at the Dubai
World Trade Centre and is considered to be the most important
ophthalmic optics trade fair in the Middle East. Rodenstock was
represented by its longstanding partner EGMA Optical Supplies.
Not only the large 280 m2 booth at the fair, but above all the
launch of the Rodenstock FreeForm portfolio ensured lively
interest and throngs of
visitors.

portfolio was at the centre of this year's
participation in the fair. Due to the investment made by the
regional partner in the FreeForm machinery and the use of a
special service support team for the implementation of the
project on-site, EGMA O.S. can now offer the best solutions in
the field of progressive lenses. "Through local

now directly in the market. Hence, we can guarantee the best and
fastest service and once more assert our market
leadership," says Marcel Katuin, Head of Emerging
Markets at Rodenstock, who is more than satisfied with the
Vision X in Dubai. "Our order books are impressive; we
have exceeded last year's results by far. The positive
reactions to our portfolio by customers indicate an extremely
successful year in 2011 – especially important in the Gulf
region, which is such a significant growth
market."
Getting together
in the Middle East Rodenstock's
presence at the trade fair aroused tremendous interest in the
customers and visitors. Based on the large European fairs, the
stand layout also included the brand worlds of Porsche Design,
Alfred Dunhill, Mercedes-Benz and uvex and was therefore the
most interesting and attractive booth at the fair. The
company's presence at the fair was completed by a
separate training area in which interested opticians were shown
the latest Rodenstock products twice each day. Other Rodenstock
partners from the region like Zarka (Saudi Arabia) and Azar Lens
(Iran) were also able to use the booth as a perfect platform for
meetings with their customers.
