Porsche Design Eyewear in the Passing Lane
Porsche Design stands for technically inspired
products with functional, timeless and purist styling. The
portfolio of the luxury brand includes classics like, for
example, the successful Roadster luggage series, the premium
running shoes Bounce:S and TecFlex pens. The Porsche Design
spectacles collection for 2010 is already developing into a
modern classic in the eyewear sector.
“The
demand for our spectacles and sunglasses has been
extraordinarily high right from the start of the collection, and
exceeds our greatest expectations,” says Dr. Jürgen Geßler, CEO
of the Porsche Design Group. “With the combination of innovative
technology, select materials and a reduced design, we have
obviously hit a nerve with design- and style-conscious
customers. Our license partner Rodenstock, whose technical
know-how is indispensible, also stands for the high quality and
the success.”
Dr. Olaf Göttgens, CEO
Rodenstock Group: “We are proud of a premium partner like
Porsche Design. The products of the luxury brand are already one
of the most successful licensed collections that Rodenstock has
ever produced."
Besides new releases of
popular classics, the 2010 collection focuses on modern design
concepts as well as a line developed especially for ladies.
Clear, reduced styling, innovative technology, and select
materials give all Porsche Design spectacles exclusivity and
ensure outstanding wearing comfort.
Flowing Titanium: Flowing forms and
an ultra-light interpretation The men’s line
made of titanium that was launched successfully last year
already follows the styling of the legendary Porsche 911. The
silhouette of the sports car was also on the agenda for the
development of the two new models. In the spectacles, the front,
lugs and sides flow together in curved lines and create
thrilling light and shade effects. The spectacles are
manufactured of beta-titanium, which is a popular material for
aerospace technology and ensures maximum lightness, flexibility
and the greatest wearing comfort. The P’8166 correction
spectacles are convincing as a half-frame with an elegant and
sporty style, and they meet the demands of perfection and
understatement. A masterpiece of handcrafted performance is the
P’8494 sunglasses. They have no screws or soldered points. As a
result, the sporty model, which is available in two sizes, is
clean and puristic.
Design classics
reinterpreted The P’8486 arrived on the
market for the first time in 1986 as fold-up pilot spectacles.
With their unmistakeable shield look, they are among the most
successful classics from Porsche Design and have been reissued
as part of the Heritage Collection. The only difference is found
in the use of ultramodern materials like beta-titanium, which
makes the sides extremely flexible. The relaunch is perfected by
the true to the original leather
case.
A Focus on
Women Yoko Ono created a trend in 1979 with
the legendary Porsche Design shield sunglasses that has
continued even today. She made the luxury spectacles of the
company into a real “must have” for the world of women. This has
now been followed by six completely newly designed sunglasses in
the first separate ladies collection. With this collection,
Porsche Design will meet the needs of women who are looking for
something that is clear, functional and with a purist design
without having to forego the special. The large size sunglasses
in the shield look have a reduced design. Their smooth lines
give them a markedly feminine orientation without appearing too
playful. In addition, the classical colours of a discrete black
and brown up to aubergine and olive emphasise the sophistication
and the stylish understatement of these models.
