Frequently asked questions about the Impression®
product family
|
How are Impression® ophthalmic lenses
different from other ophthalmic lenses? In
contrast to conventional ophthalmic lenses, Impression®
ophthalmic lenses from Rodenstock also take into consideration
individual data such as the shape of your face, the distance
between your eyes, as well as the fit and shape of your
frames. Rodenstock includes these personal
"parameters" in the calculation and production of
Impression® ophthalmic lenses. As a result, you receive custom
made ophthalmic lenses with optimum visual properties.
What models of these ophthalmic
lenses can be obtained? The Impression®
product family from Rodenstock offers a choice of individual
single vision, progressive, and close-up lenses (optimised for
different reading distances) which are unique in the market as
well as special lenses for sports. Each Impression®
ophthalmic lens from Rodenstock is matched to you and your
individual needs.
Can I get
Impression® ophthalmic lenses from any
optician? Basically, you can get
Impression® ophthalmic lenses from Rodenstock in any
optician's shop. You can use our optician search to
find opticians who have been specifically certified by
Rodenstock and who can guarantee particularly high consulting certainty.

What is the ImpressionCard and when do I
get this card? When buying our custom made
Impression® ophthalmic lens, you will receive the ImpressionCard
from your optician automatically and free of charge. On one
hand, the ImpressionCard is the official brand certificate of
the Impression® product family and hence your confirmation that
you have bought an original Rodenstock Impression® ophthalmic
lens. Furthermore, the ImpressionCard is a spectacles passport
that contains all the necessary information about your lenses
and it is a certificate of entitlement for free services that
can be used as needed. The services are comprised of
the ophthalmic lens insurance, compatibility guarantee, quality
guarantee and a Traveller Service.
What does the compatibility
guarantee mean? There are sometimes
incompatibilities with progressive lenses. Impression®
progressive lenses are characterised by a considerably reduced
rocking effects and a wide visual zone for close up. Among other
things, this provides additional security when climbing stairs
and leads to increased spontaneous compatibility. Therefore,
even spectacles wearers who have had difficulties with
conventional progressive lenses have very good chances of
getting on well with Impression® ophthalmic lenses. However, if
in spite of everything this isn't the case, then the guarantee
card provides a replacement free of
charge.
Does the Rodenstock
guarantee also apply to scratched and broken ophthalmic
lenses? Basically, the Rodenstock guarantee
always applies in the event of proper use. One exception is
broken lenses, because in such a case it can't be assumed that
they were being used properly.
What is so special about Impression® Mono
compared to conventional single-vision
lenses? The benefits of Impression® Mono are
that they give you the best vision through lenses that are
individually produced and optimised for every visual
requirement. They facilitate sharp vision right up to the edge
of the lens, because these lenses use the entire surface area,
which means they are optimised over the entire lens. Spectacles
wearers who have somewhat higher values in particular will
benefit from them. Besides the optical advantages, Impression®
Mono captivates due to the extraordinary wearing comfort,
because the lenses are very light. In addition, they guarantee
the spectacles wearer the best possible aesthetics.

I have problems when working up close
(e.g. working on the computer). Is there a suitable lens for
this in the Impression® product
family? Conventional reading glasses are
often inadequate at the workplace, because they only provide the
necessary sharpness in a small radius. You can achieve the
greatest visual comfort for all up close activities with the
individual close-up lenses Impression® 40 and Impression® 80.
Impression® 80 is recommended for computer work or for
do-it-yourself work, and Impression® 40 is better suited for
working at even shorter distances (e.g. handicrafts) and for
reading. Both lenses provide an extra-wide visual zone
for close-up in contrast to conventional close-up
lenses.
What benefits do I have from
the extra-wide close-up zone? A wide close-up
zone means that with these lenses it is possible to have sharp
vision right to the edge even for working close-up. As a result,
blurry vision at the edge of the lens no longer has to be
compensated for by head
movements.
Can Rodenstock
Impression® ophthalmic lenses also be used in sport
spectacles? Rodenstock specially developed
the progressive lenses Impression® Sport” and the single-vision
lenses Impression® Mono Sport” for glazing sport spectacles.
Like all Impression® ophthalmic lenses, they are produced on the
basis of your individual parameters. Since not all
sport spectacles that are available on the market are suitable
for glazing with progressive lenses, you should definitely
consult your optician before making a purchase. |
